SmartPosti begins cooperation with the shared parcel locker network uDrop

12.5.2026

Logistics company SmartPosti and the shared parcel locker network uDrop have launched a strategic partnership aimed at expanding parcel collection options for customers across the Baltic states. As a result of this cooperation, the SmartPosti parcel locker network in the Baltics is expected to grow by approximately 30% by the end of 2026.

“All existing services at SmartPosti indoor parcel lockers will remain unchanged. At the same time, the cooperation with uDrop will expand the range of parcel collection locations available to customers, allowing parcels to be collected from uDrop parcel lockers as well. This will help us get even closer to our customers and ensure smooth parcel flows, even during peak periods,” explains Guntis Mičuļs, Head of Operations at SmartPosti in the Baltics. “The partner network will also enable us to reach more remote regions where we currently do not have our own parcel lockers.”

Meanwhile, Marius Blagnys, CEO of uDrop, highlights that the partnership represents an important step towards building an open, extensive and efficiently utilised parcel locker infrastructure across the Baltics.

“The shared parcel locker model helps address both infrastructure shortages and the efficient use of existing capacity. The uDrop approach enables parcel delivery companies to reduce the challenges of overcrowded parcel lockers, avoid unnecessary duplication of infrastructure, and bring parcel collection services closer to end users — even in regions where installing a separate parcel locker for a single operator would not be economically viable,” says Blagnys.

Blagnys adds that uDrop plans to expand its network by several hundred new parcel lockers in the near future, making partner participation in the shared infrastructure increasingly important. This will help ensure more convenient parcel collection closer to end recipients while simultaneously expanding each partner’s parcel locker network.  “By using the uDrop network, our partners can focus on efficient logistics processes, while customers benefit from simpler, faster and more convenient parcel collection closer to home,” Blagnys notes.

The integration of the cooperation will take place gradually, starting with a pilot project in Lithuania to assess the delivery process and identify potential improvements. The service will subsequently be rolled out in Latvia and Estonia.

“Once full systems integration is completed, we will gradually include more uDrop parcel lockers in the shared network. Customers should not be concerned if, after receiving a parcel notification and arriving to collect it, they see the uDrop logo on the parcel locker,” says Mičuļs.

He emphasises that the parcel collection process itself will remain essentially unchanged — customers will continue to collect parcels using a PIN code. The main difference is that uDrop parcel lockers are typically located outdoors, expanding the parcel collection options available to customers.

At the initial stage, SmartPosti parcels delivered via uDrop parcel lockers will be available for collection only. Parcel sending and return services are planned for later stages of the shared network integration.

“During the first phase of integration, customers will not yet be able to choose a specific uDrop collection point themselves, as parcel locker locations will be added to the system gradually. Once the process is completed, these locations will appear in the shopping cart, self-service system and parcel tracking in the same way as SmartPosti parcel locker locations,” Guntis explains.

The strategic cooperation between SmartPosti and uDrop will strengthen delivery infrastructure capacity across the Baltics, ensuring uninterrupted and efficient parcel processing even during peak periods. A broader parcel locker network will provide customers with greater flexibility in parcel collection and, in the future, also in parcel sending, while helping to maintain high service availability during periods of increased delivery volumes.
