Labelless sending – easy sending and returns for your customers

Your customers only need a short sending code – no printed labels. It makes sending and returning easier for them, and saves you from sending return labels in advance.

Labelless sending offers consumers, who need to send or return parcels, an easy and safe service. For businesses, it provides a simple process for managing customer returns.    This service is especially beneficial for consumers who don’t want or cannot print out labels, and for your business, as you don’t have to provide return labels to consumers.  

In addition, labelless sending increases confidentiality – customer data is fully protected, with no risk of it being seen by unauthorized persons on the parcel. 

Sending and returning without a parcel label

Labelless sending and returning is possible from any SmartPosti parcel locker.

This service is suitable for:

  • Returning an item to the sender, for example when a customer sends a parcel back to an online store or company. To use the service, online stores need to implement an additional development – an integration with the e-commerce system.

  • Sending items sold through a recommerce platform.

  • Sending a parcel to another person. Parcels can be sent to parcel lockers, parcel points, and directly to the recipient’s address across the Baltics and Finland.

Good to know

  • The sending code consists of at least 6 symbols and includes numbers 1–9 and letters A–F.

How labelless sending works in recommerce

    Purchase

    The seller publishes the item on a recommerce platform with SmartPost parcel locker delivery available. After purchase, the buyer can select a SmartPost parcel locker as the delivery option.

    Sending with a sending code

    The seller writes the sending code on the parcel. At the SmartPost parcel locker, they scan the QR code “Do you have a sending code?” with their mobile phone. Then they enter the sending code and follow the instructions on the phone screen.

    Pickup

    When the parcel arrives at the SmartPost parcel locker selected by the buyer, they receive an SMS notification. The parcel can then be picked up by opening the locker door with the PIN code provided in the message.

Only the sending code is needed 

Since June 2025, SmartPosti users have had the opportunity to send or return parcels without a parcel label. This means that only a sending code needs to be written on the parcel, with no extra information or parcel label required.
